Hand Doctor

Today we went to the Pediatric Surgeon to see about Teresa's fingers. He, like everyone else, has not seen a case just like this. He examined her whole body and looked at the x rays we took. He says there is nothing he can see why her fingers would not bend in that one knuckle on all 8 fingers. It most likely has to do with the bone, but since she is still so young and developing he cannot give a reason why. He told us we have to wait 5-10 years to see how things go and what happens. See if it prevents her from doing any daily activities or sports. He does not want to do any surgeries on her since he is not exactly sure what it is. From what his field is, he does not have the answer. He is going to refer us to a Genetics Specialist next. He says they know other thing to look for that he would not that could be the answer to something else. So, now to wait for another referral and to make another apt to see another doctor. Until then we are to do our own physical therapy with her to move her fingers, which we do. Thankfully it is not something she notices or hurts her.
