Christmas fun

Christmas day was really nice. We spent the day at mom and dad's. We had all the Brochtrup family over as well. There were about 20 of us. Kids running around and lots of laughing. Mary enjoyed all her cousins.


She enjoyed ripping all the presents, hers and others. Each time she got done opening one she would say "more, more". She didn't quite understand it was what is in them that was exciting. She just wanted to rip the paper. It was cute. I think we'll keep all her presents hidden and take out a new one a day so it's like Christmas everyday. She doesn't know the difference, yet.

Mary's first Christmas lights night

Last night was pretty cute. Mary got to spend the evening with Aunt LaLa (aunt Linda, Kevin's sister) and we got to enjoy a meal out w/out her. Very nice for a change. After we picked her up we decided to go look at lights. The biggest street of lights was just around the corner. We were not sure what Mary would do, but she actually was looking out the window. She did make an "wow" sort of noise when she saw a blow up of Mickey and Whinny the Pooh. Then we were done and drove out. As we drove down the dark street Mary was in the back saying "More" and making the more sign language sign. It was super cute. So, I guess she likes Christmas lights.

These were just too cute not to post. This was at Kevin's parents house the other day. Mary is such a ham!

Santa is 'OK' as long as mommy is there

Well, we got a picture today. I went to the mall early while she was still in a good mood. Santa was up early and his sleigh arrived at 9 today. So, we waited in line. We came around the corner and she saw him and grabbed ahold of me really tight and her face changed to scared. I tried to put her on his lap and that was not going to happen. SO, santa scooted over and I sat next to him. She would not sit on my leg closer to him and would not look at him either. She would not smile, but at least she did not cry. So, that will be this years santa picture.

something new

So, I thought I'd start a blog for soemthing to do. Our life isn't that exciting, but hey, why not share some things that might be. haha

the Christmas season has been fun. Mary loves all the stuff to look at. She notices EVERYTHING. But, she does NOT like Santa. She did not want to sit on his lap or be anywhere near him. I guess we'll try again next year.

There seems to only be pictures of Kevin and Mary and none of me and her. That is because mom is always taking the picture, or is not in a picture taking outfit. haha I will have to try harder.
