Today was girls day. My mom gets together with a couple girlfriends once a month to hang out and shop. Since I have not been working I've working I get to join them on their adventures. We don't do anything to exciting but it never fails we never stop talking. It's great! It's nice to be able to have an adult conversation once a month. haha
Anyway, not to really brag, but I have the best kid. We start the day and meet about 9am for breakfast. Then we proceed to shop once the mall opens at 10. Then we break for lunch about noon or so. I then head home for Mary's nap. Anyway, Mary is such a good girl and a trooper. She was fussy, as far as not wanting to sit still, but wasn't being loud to annoy anyone around. It bothers me only because I can't enjoy myself and relax, but we all take turns and try to entertain her. But, she never cried or made a scene. I did have to chase her around Target, but ok, I was getting exercise. I am so lucky she just goes with the flow. She gets a little harder as she gets tired but she still is a good girl. I can only hope the next one will follow in her foot steps.

So my daughter
Mary is so my daughter with her motherly imagination. I love it. A kid in our walking group had a doll and Mary wanted it and when she got it away from the kid she would not give it up. SOOO, I had to get her one. And, of course, my mom had saved ALL my dolls. So, we found one she wanted and took her home. Then I also had a doll pack-n-play which we brought home too. So, I set it all up when we got home. Well, Mary took to it all like she knew what she was doing. She would put her doll in the crib and I gave her a blanket and she would put it on top of the baby and say "cozy", just like we do to her. Then there was a diaper on the table and she took the doll and put her on the floor. She then went and got a butt wipe. She sat down with the doll and pulled up her dress and proceeded to wipe her 'who who", as we call it, and then tried to put on the diaper. How cute it that. She did this for a good while and get herself entertained. FINALLY she can entertain herself, for a bit. Friday, March 28, 2008
Pretty, scary, toes
Well, I'm sorry to show off my funky looking feet, but they are pretty right now. Last night was mom's night with some of the other moms in my walking group. We went to a salon and had manicures and pedicures. THey had munchies and wine. It was relaxing. I decided to paint my toes bright green to match dad's buggy. I gotta match. SO, I'm ready for some fun in the sun and sand next week. Only 6 days away!!Toys need special attention as well

Mary gives all her toys equal play. And she makes sure that they all get to play how she plays as well. She wanted to play with these Simpson toys of Homer, Marge, Maggie, Bar, and Lisa. They are Kevin's collective toys, but he said she could play with them. SO, she wanted to make sure they had fun. I caught her giving homer and Maggie a ride on her bike. Then she decided to give Maggie a ride in her swing. Pretty darn cute imagination.

easter bunny present

The Easter Bunny brought Mary a sand turtle. Kevin went to buy sand, sand and only sand, at Walmart. But they only had crayola colored sand. $7 for a small bag. OK, fine. So he gets two bags of green sand. Well, it's a hit. BUT we're having issues with her keeping the sand in the turtle. She has more fun pouring it out of the turtle onto the grass. SO, I moved it onto the cement. At least there I can sweep it up and put it back in. So, she has fun putting in on the cement and then trying to sweep it up herself. This make a BIGGER mess for me to clean up. BUT, at least she's happy. Me, not so much to clean up after her, but whatever.
Then she was playing and getting it all over her and this was the result when Kevin went to change her diaper..............
The sand is green, can you tell...haha
The sand is green, can you tell...hahafirst hair cut
Mary's bangs were driving me nuts. SO, I decided it was time for an Easter trim. I had Kevin hold her head while I did the trimming. Here it goes..............Mom it's not really straight. ................OH WELL! There is a reason I'm not a beautician. They will grown back. But at least they are not in her eyes anymore.

Hop Hop Hop
We went and saw the Easter Bunny. I thought that since a bunny isn't as scary looking as Santa that she might take a picture on her own. NOT! SO, here I am again with Mary. At least we got a smile this time. Hopefully she'll be ready to sit on her own by Christmas this year. She'll be almost 2 1/2 by then. WOW, did I just write that, 2 1/2???? WOW how time flies. So Cool
Mary in her new sunglasses. She's so super cool with the sticker still on them and the yellow string hanging from them. They are so cute though. They wrap around her head to stay on. She needed some for Mexico to wear in the buggy to keep the sand out of her eyes, and stay on her head. The yellow 'string' is a gambling bungee. It is what you hook one end onto your players club card and hook the other end onto yourself. This way you don't leave your card in a machine. So, it works perfect to hold Mary's glasses onto her. ha ha Now she's ready for some fun dune buggy and jeep riding. Two weeks from today we'll be there!!Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Good 'Ol Friends
Every couple months the four of us get together. We are friends from high school. Brian (glasses), Suzanne (green), and Steve (black), and I all went to school high school together. Some of us went through confirmation together. All of us swam on the high school swim team. We have had lots of fun times together. Now we're all grown up. Suzanne got married first. I was next three months later. Steve just got engaged. Brian, well, he's hopeless, but we still love him. I had a baby first and now Suzanne is due with her baby in April. We are all getting old. I was the first to turn 30 and Suzanne is next. How time flies. I swear it was just yesterday we were all on the bus on our way to a swim meet acting like teenagers. But life goes on. I'm just happy we've all stayed friends after graduating and some going to college and moving across country. But we all end up together at some point in time. Saturday, March 15, 2008
Water Play
Days are longer and warmer!! We decided to play in the water. I turned on the hose and let her play. It was funny to watch her. We have to get this white baby body some color. I know she can tan like her mommy. We will get plenty of it when we go to Mexico in two weeks. I can't wait to watch her play in the water there. Monday, March 10, 2008
Where's my money???

We finally were able to go drinking/gambling with my parents since Mary was born. Our friend Traci was able to take Mary for three nights. So, we dropped Mary off early Thursday morning and were off for some fun. We did have a super fun time. There's a lot of walking you have to do in Laughlin, and we did A LOT of it. I think I spread my money out evenly between all the casinos. But it was all worth it. Now back to reality at home.

getting away
OK, so Kevin and I are silly. Last night we celebrated our anniversary, from Tuesday. We traveled a whole 5 miles and stayed at and Embassy Suites. This hotel is right across the street from where Kevin works. He watched them build this hotel and now we stayed at it. Mary got to spend the night 5 miles the other way at Grandpa and Grandma's. It was a fun night. They have cocktail hour from 5:30-7:00 for FREE! Well, can I say I drank too much??? YES. Well, it was free. Why waste anything free. So, needless to say, I don't remember much after cocktail hour was over. I would guess I had a good time. I did not sleep well, so I'm really tired today. But it was great to get away for a night. Even if it was 5 miles from home.
