Let Me Wine About The Last 4 Years

This weekend we decided to take a trip up to Paso Robles to do some wine tasting for our 4 year anniversary. Grandpa came to pick up the kids at 7am on Saturday and then we were outa there soon after that. We had to get there by the time the first winery opens at 10:00, Tobin James. Well we made it there with 10 minutes to spare. So, instead of sitting in the parking lot like a couple of drunks, waiting for the bar to open, we drove 5 minutes past it and then turned around. Well, by the time we got there, there were already three cars in the parking lot. SO, we were not the only ones waiting. We spent about an hour there and then were off to our next winery or two. Then it was off to check into the hotel and take a nap.
After our nap we were off to one more winery and then we were done. It had already been a long day. We decided to go back to the hotel and just rest and enjoy our no kid time. The next day we had our rout planned on what we were to do. Off to Christian Lazo who opens at 10. We were there right on time, as always, and no one was there. HEY! So, then we had to look at the map and see what else around there opened at 10. Thank God there was one, one we actually had never been to before. So, off we went. IT was a nice place after all. Then we went back to the first one and he was there finally. We ended up spending almost an hour there. It was just the wine maker and us. Most places were like that on Sunday, so it made it a lot more enjoyable. Well, also because there were no kids running around to chase in between tastings.
That afternoon we decided to switch hotels to the Paso Robles Inn downtown. We could then walk around downtown and not have to worry about driving or taking a cab. They have a few wineries around down town to go to. It was fun. Then we had dinner at the Steakhouse in the hotel. In bed by 9:30 and up by 6 or so. Our bodies are set to that time no matter where we are. Oh well.
On the road we were to get back home to relieve mom and dad and Kevin had to get to work. It was a great quick weekend get away. Nice to enjoy the time to ourselves and enjoy some nice wine. Thank God for my parents to give us that time away, much needed time.
Ok, I had to take pictures of some of the food we had. I sound so old talking about the size of the food or what it was, but it was funny.............................

This was my 'side of fruit' for breakfast. It was amazing so I had to take a picture of it.
I had to take a picture of my 'Turkey Balls' I actually ate. It wasn't too too bad.

This was our side of onion rings. They were huge.
