Just the 2 of us

This weekend Kevin and I went to Vegas. It was just the two of us for my birthday. My birthday isn't until this Saturday, but it's also Superbowl weekend and we didn't want to go to Vegas then so we went the weekend before. We stayed at the Orleans, which is off the strip. We've stayed there before and love it. It's quiet and cheap. They have a shuttle to the strip so we can still get down there to have fun there.
We left Thursday about 12:30 and made it to state line by 3:30. One of our favorite places to eat is there in the outlet mall, so we had to stop and have dinner there. Then we were on our way to actual Vegas. Checked in and then started our fun. My goal was to have a few drinks since it's been 9 months. Well, I accomplished that. I surprisingly didn't wake up hung over.
Friday we decided to take the shuttle down to the strip and walk one way to look at casinos and such. We have not done that in a while. So we headed our way down toward the Imperial Palace, where we got married. My goal that day was to get a Mai Tai at the Mai Tai bar made by Don, our mai tai king. This place is in the Imperial Palace. We got there and it was closed. Very Sad. = ( Due to the economy not a lot of things are open in the casinos. They have really cut down. It's even a lot quieter than normal, people wise. Really Sad. Anyway, we walk around the casino and notice Don at another bar. SCORE!! We go over and get two Mai Tais from him. And yes, they are just what I was wanting. Mission complete, for now. We found out he only works util 2 and it was 11 right now. Ok, yes, it was early to be drinking Mai Tais, but it was my goal and I had a limited amount of time. Since we were there and he was only going to be there until 2, we had one more. So, now we are feeling pretty good and should go eat some lunch now. Then back to the hotel we went to continue our crazy day.
Don our Mai Tai King
Saturday I insisted we went back to the strip to see Don one more time. He was only going to be there from 6-2. The shuttle started running at 9:30. Ok, yes that's a little early for Mai Tais but it was my last day of kid freedom and I was going to have one more if it was going to kill me. And we made it and got our mai tai. We then walked the other way down the strip and ended up at the Monte Carlo. We were meeting a friend for lunch. Cyndi was a big help in our wedding at the IP (Imperial Palace). She helped us with our rooms for everyone and the pricing. We got to talking with her at that time and became friends and even invited her to our wedding. Ever since then I've kept in touch and whenever we go to Vegas we meet up with her. We met up with her and her new husband for lunch. Then they took us back to the Orleans and we gambled together for a bit. Kevin and I were so tired from the night before we had to leave them around 3 to go take a nap. We were actually going to go see a hockey game that night and needed our rest. Kevin's friend, Sal, has a friend who owns the Las Vegas Hockey team, the Wranglers. The home rink for the Wranglers is at the Orleans where we were staying. So, Chas, the owner, got us tickets. The game started at 7:30. We had to go to will call to pick them up. . Well, they were not there for us and we had to get someone to find them and such. FINALLY we got some tickets and got it. It was fun. The tickets were off to one side and most of the action was on the other side. But they were close to the ice seats. It was pretty cool just to say we were there and got in cause we 'know' the owner. haha
Sunday w were up at 6, naturally, and on the road by 8:15. We were done with Vegas and wanted to see our girls again. We did miss them, but it was a nice break while it happened. We got home in time for lunch. Mary was not too thrilled to see us. That meant no more Traci and Farah. Since Traci brought Mary to mom's house they were there when we arrived and Mary didn't really want anything to do with us. But once we drove away she was over it. It is nice to know she is happy with them and we don't have to worry about her. Teresa was happy to see us, from what we could tell. = ) But we know she is well taken care of too with grandma and grandpa. I think they were more happy to see us then Teresa was. haha Taking care of a 5 week old is tiring. But they love it.

Is It Nap Time Yet??????????????????

This is my 'angel' giving me her attitude. "I'm not listening" UGH! It's been a trying morning here at the house. She just does not want to listen or follow directions. And when I have Teresa in my arms she knows that I can't do anything so she continues to run around like a tornado and tear up the house.
So, this morning she pooped in her pants while I was feeding Teresa. So, I stopped and went to take care of that. Then she would not get dressed again. SO, she ran around the house with just her shirt on. No matter what I said she would not put her clothes back on. She has her special bear that is her security blanket/bear. So I decided to take that away. That did not go over well, but she still would not put her clothes on. Then I let her have a pacifier to play with, with her dolls. She tries to put it in her mouth but she is not allowed to. Well, today she decided that she would. I kept telling her not to, but she still did it. So, I took it away and cut off the nipple. Then she kept putting it in her mouth, what was left . Then I threatened to take it away again and throw it away. So she went and thew it away herself. GREAT, that's gone. The trash needed to be taken out, so I took it out immediately she she could not go back and take it out. Well, she did try to go back in about 5 minutes for it, but it was gone. OH WELL!
Now, about a half hour later, she remembers I took Pinto, her bear/blanket. I told her he was on vacation until she got dressed. Now she decides to get dressed. Then she gets Pinto back. Pinto seems to be the key thing we can threaten her with right now. Let's see how long we can get away with it.
In the mien time my house is a mess. As soon as Kevin drives away the Mary Tornado comes tearing through.
At about 10 or so today Kevin calls to see how things are going. I tell him, well, Mary is running around naked after her bath and I'm trying to feed Teresa. Just the usual chaos going on. He laughs at me. Oh, he needs to just wait for the day I leave him home alone for a whole day. He needs to experience it for himself. It's no walk in the park.
OH, IT'S NAP TIME!!!!! Gotta go get Mary down so I can get some rest. Wish me luck!

Mommy and Mary Date

Lately I feel like Mary doesn't get enough Mommy time. SO, her and I had a date on Sunday. I wanted to taker her to this place where you get to paint a mug or something like that and then they fire it. Well, that place was no longer there when we got there. SO, I had to come up with something else. There are not any kid movies out right now, so that was out. We were right near the mall so I decided to go there. She has never been on the carousel, so I decided to take her on that. She LOVED it. She rode on a bear the first time. When the ride was over she had to wave good bye to all the animals near us.
It was lunch time so we went down to the food court. I told her if she ate her whole corn dog that we'd go ride the carousel again. So, she ate the whole thing. Oh what bribes will get ya!
SO we went back to ride it again and this time she rode on a kangaroo. I even got to ride next to her. It was quite fun.

Then as we were walking out there were these rides you put quarters in and they move. Well, she had to sit in one of them. THEN some other girl wanted to sit in there with her. Mary didn't want to share. But her dad put quarters in and gave them both rides. So, then she was happy. It was a fun morning. We will have to have our dates more often to make her feel special. Hopefully next time there will be a movie out we can go see.

one month

Teresa is already one month old today. I can't believe it's been that long already. How times flies when you don't have time to watch the time. She's growing like a weed. She just went through a growth spurt and was eating like crazy and plumped up. as upi cam see/ Sje's looking like a baby and not a newborn much. I'm sure she's about 10 pounds already. She focus' on me when I feed her and smiles when I talk. She loves when I sing to her. I can't sing, or remember many songs, but she's loves to hear my voice. I make up stupid songs and she still loves them. Kevin looks at me funny, but whatever, makes her happy. I'm still getting up in the middle of the night. Ok, I know it's early to be sleeping through, but I can dream. I feed her about 8:30 or 9 and then she's down for the count until about 2 and then again about 5. It's not too bad, but it's still not a full night sleep. I am adjusting, but miss my sleep. Oh well, part of life.
SO, she continues to grow strong and healthy. = )

Anyone have the time?

Does anyone know where you can buy more time for your day??? I so don't know where my days go anymore, or what I did with them. I barely get to sit down while either of the kids are awake and when Mary is awake I really don't sit down. I feel I should be dropping weight in a blink of an eye, but I'm not yet. So, instead I'm trying to find the time to work out, but have not yet. I will figure this whole managing my time with two kids thing down soon enough. In the mien time the sink is full of dishes and the laundry piles up, dirty or clean. Dinners may get made or Kevin has to do it when he gets home. The floors are clean thanks to my new Scooba! If you have tile or hard floors you have to mop, you so need a scooba. It has been the best thing on the planet. Well, next to someone else to clean the house. This thing cleans my tile floor like new. I can't do that with a mop. And you just move things out of the way and set it up and then let it go do the work for you. It's awesome.
So, if anyone knows where I can find the time for all this please let me know. I'm up for suggestions.

Blessed with so many friends

Saturday I had a baby shower for me and Teresa. Corie and her mom put it on for me. It was a wonderful morning of friends and good times. They made it a party to just hang out and get together and have a good time. It was so nice and relaxing. Everyone was able to meet Teresa at one time. Teresa slept through the whole shower and people holding her. Everyone was so nice to bring me diapers and other needed baby things. Since we saved everything from Mary, I didn't need much of anything but diapers. But ti's always nice to get new things as well. When I brought all the stuff home Sal, Kevin's friend, kept looking at it and saying "15 people bought all this for you?". Well, I have wonderful friends who love me. It's great! But Corie and Elaine are the best for putting on the day for me. So, now I have a ton of diapers to keep Teresa's buns covered for quite a while. So nice not to have to worry about buying any for a while. She does go through a lot. She doesn't like a wet diaper of any kind. She's quite the princess already. But a cute one at that. I can't believe she'll be a month old already on the 17th. Times flies.

sleep deprived

Well, since my last entry, New Years Eve, I have not had a full nights sleep or a good one. Miss Teresa will get up one or two times a night, but is then up for an hour or so. Last night she was up for 3 hours. UGH! I fed her last at 10:30 and finally went to bed at 11:30. Then she got up at 3:45. Ok, that was a good sleep. She ate and then did not want to lay back down. First she was wet, so I changed her. Then she needed to burp more, so I burped her. Then she didn't want to close her eyes. Then it was so late that she wanted to eat again. SO, we start teh process over. LONG night.
SO I finally get to bed and then Kevin gets up and then he gets Mary. Then he's back upstairs at 7 to get ready for work and Mary is jumping on me. SO much for any more sleep. It's going to be one LONG day.
