We're ready for you Summer!!

Ok, I had to post this, it's just too darn cute. These are Mary's first flip flwops, or as I call them "flops" to help her put a name to them. She loves wearing them and is so darn cute walking in them. I can't wait for summer. I got her some pink water shoes too with Shrek and them and two super cute bathing suits. It's just toomuch fun to dress her. I can't wear all this cute stuff, so why not dress my daughter in it. So, Summer, we're ready for you to come. Only one month and 15 days until Mexico, but I'm ready for some sun now too. I have to go to the dreaded bathing suit shopping before then. UGH!

Family Fun

Our trip to Fresno to be with our cousins was a lot of fun. Time away from Mary was much needed, but I did miss her, of course. We got spent the night at a hotel with Mary Beth (in the brown jacket) and her daughter Britt (in the orange jacket). We had a good time just hangin' out and being silly. The shower was the next day for Ashley (in the top picture in the middle) She is Due March 25th and is having a boy. It brought back memories of my shower. The only time I get to see this part of my family is when one of the little cousins have a shower of some sort. Hopfully Britt will be next!!!
Mary gave Kevin a run for his money while I was gone. YES! He took her shopping for me, for our anniversary coming up. Well, he thought he could handle it and didn't take the stroller. WRONG! So, he had to carry her all over. He said that was stupid. DUH! Then she was a little pistol and wouldn't eat for him and was fussy. He thinks she shouldn't eat snacks and then she'll eat meals better. He does not understand this yet. Mary eats all day long and still eats meals. He doesn't understand she's too little for that yet. He thinks she should be growen up already and be like us. Why can't he just enjoy her being little?
Anyway, the time away was good but it's nice to be home and back in my routine. I think she's happy I'm home too and back to normal, whatever normal is.

dad is babysitting

I am off to Fresno to my cousin's baby shower with my mom. Kevin gets to watch Mary all by himself for a whole day and a half. I will get to enjoy my cousins and some time away from the diapers and daily routine. I will miss my big girl for sure though. She is so much fun to be with these days. Her vocabulary has growen to a new word a day. She will repeat anything. So we really have to watch what we say.
SO, I better get packing. I have to pack for myself and have things ready for Mary for Kevin as well. Then I have to soak up as much Mary as I can before I go too.

Potty Time

Well, Mary is 19 months old now. We are going to start the process of potty training. The book says you can start as early as 18 months, so, I'm late. haha She sees what I do in the bathroom so she knows basically what goes on. I got her own potty today. I took her in to sit on it and she had to take Pinto, her bear, and her milk. Ok, whatever. She thinks it's cool. She keeps running to the bathroom to sit on it. Then she had to put Pinto on it by himself and then play with all the parts on it. I had to tell her it is not a toy and will be dirty. Then she wanted to pick it up and take it outside with her. Another explination I had to do. Oh the joys of growing up! If you have any advice PLEASE pass it along.

Finally nice weather

We finally have some nice days to play outside. Mary would live outside if she could. She's always much happier out there. I looked outside and saw how nice it was and said let's go outside. So, she runs over to the sliding door and says "side", which is her word for outside. Then she goes to the coat closet and says "jacket". She knows the routine to going outside. Then she went and got her shoes and sat on the carpet in front of the door and started to try to put them on. So we proceeded outside to have some fun. She discovered dirt and a stick and got all dirty. That's OK with me. It keeps her happy and let's me do things.
The new thing we did today was put on our own shoes, on the correct feet. Now, I don't know if she knows which foot is which, but they were on the right ones. She was able to slip her feet into the slip on shoes. It was pretty darn cute to watch her do it. I tried to help her but there was no way she was going to let me help her. Independance is comming!

la la la la, la la la la Elmo's World

Mary LOVES Elmo. She does not call him by name but says 'la la la la' instead to say who it is. So, whenever she watches Sesame Street and it comes to Elmo's World time she has to get the elmo in the piture and watch him on TV. It is super cute.
SO, today it was time for Elmo's World on TV. I was in the garage doing laundry and she comes running down the hall doing her la la la thing. I hear her and she stops at the stairs. (At the bottom of the stairs we have a gate to keep her from going up) So she starts banging on the gate to go up. I come from the garage to see what she is doing. I hear Elmo in the background and I realize the last time we went upstairs she took her stuffed Elmo to watch Elmo on tv. I open the gate and she crawls up to get Elmo. We then return downstairs to watch Elmo with Elmo. Gotta love her.

Camping Fun

Well we had a great weekend camping to celebrate my birthday. The weather held out for us and didn't start raining until midnight on the last night. So, we had to pack in the rain, but that's ok. Bad weather makes it easier to go home. Mary liked playing in the dirt and being able to run around outside.
I decided it's not so bad being 30. Because anything we do is with people older then me, so I'm always going to be the young pup in the group. Bring on age, it's ALL good!
