Mary is getting a little SISTER
Yes, we are having another girl. I wasn't convinced at first, but each time the ultrasound girl looked, it was more clear. So, another girl it is. We are telling the sex this time and keeping the name a surprise. We don't have a name yet, but when we figure one out it will be a secret. = ) Poor Kevin is going to be surrounded by girls. Oh well!
A Night of Laughs

Last night/afternoon we used our auction item from the MS dinner. We, Kevin's sister and brother in law and us, all got to go see Jay Leno and go to dinner at a nice restaurant. We had VIP tickets. It was pretty cool. We got to park in the NBC lot and just walk into the show and sit in saved seats for us. They were not the best seats, but they were cool. The cameras were in the way to really see the guests or Jay, but we were there.
Jay is a really cool guy. He came out before the show in jeans and a button up shirt and talked to the crowd for a bit. Then 5 minutes later he was in a suit and we were taping the show. When the show was over we got to go down and take a picture with him and shake hands. It was quick but cool. Then we got a tour of backstage of the building. We saw dressing rooms and the studio for Access Hollywood, which used to be the old Johnny Carson studio. There is a star on the floor where Johnny's desk would sit.
Then we were escorted outside where Jay came out again and would take pictures before he left the studio. So, of course I had to do one again. He gave me a strong hug when we took our picture. Pretty nice. Kevin had to take one with a MADD magazine.
If you get a picture of a 'star' with a MADD magazine and send it in you get a free 3 year subscription. Pretty cool. How often do you get a chance to do that! Then Jay got in his car and drove home. They say he drives a different car, of his 100's, to work each day. This was his car of the day. This one is a 1954 Dodge Coronet Suburban

Then we were off to dinner, I was starving. Along with the VIP tickets the package came with a certificate for Morton's Steakhouse. It was just down the block from the studio. YUMMY. We had a really nice dinner. I think I put the baby in a food coma, until I gave it the YUMMY chocolate dessert. It was to die for.

P.S.............I know this is the same shirt I wore in the last entry. It seems to be one of the only ones that still kinda fits me. I need to go shopping for some new clothes, bigger ones. I'm growing FAST.

Another Cousin In The Family

The cousins Ashley and Brittany with Mary.
This weekend Mary and I went with mom up to Fresno to see all our cousins on my mom's side. The only time we really get to see everyone is when there is a baby or wedding shower. It's fun to see everyone. This time is was a baby shower for my cousin Craig and his wife Maria.
Maria is due with a little girl, Abigail, October 30th.
This is the two Marys. Mary Beth is my mom's cousin and then little Mary Rose. Mary was soaking up all the attention from everyone AND all the M&M's she could get her hands on. UGh, no more candy or sugar for her for a few days. That was a rough evening with her.
This is Baby Jack, Ashley's baby. He was the last baby shower we went to to see all the Fresno family. He is about 6 months old now. He's so adorable. A chunky little thing at 21 pounds. Mary only weighs 26 at 2 years. He's such a happy baby. Mary thought he was cute, but didn't really have any interest in him. She wanted the attention on her, not him. SOOOO when her little brother or sister comes will be fun. NOT! Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Sober Point of View

I survived out wine tasting weekend. We left for Paso Robles Friday morning. Made it there about 11:30 to the camp ground. Ate some lunch and then we were off to our first winery. Everyone else was wine tasting and I was Mary's entertainment. At least each place was new for her to explore, but it was still challenging to keep her from destroying anything. She got bored, as did I. But we survived our first three wineries. Back to the motorhome we went. It was Kevin and my night to go out to dinner w/out Mary. We found this Italian place that we love and so we have to go anytime we are out there. So 6:30 we were off to enjoy a little bit of free Mary time. Mary didn't really get a nap this day so she was going to be ready for bed early. We had a nice dinner and then came back.
The next day we were off to my favorite winery. It is my favorite because they have food. Yummy food. These two ladies are always fun to chit chat with and eat and drink. So, I ate and drank my grape juice. They have a piano there and a cat, so Mary was semi entertained for a bit. Then we hit two more wineries and headed back to the motorhome for lunch. Today was the day we went to the bbq at the winery we all belong to. We put Mary down for a good nap so she would be a good girl while we were there. She took almost a 3 hour nap. She was making up for no nap yesturday. So, about 5:00 we were off to the winery for the bbq. It is at a winery called Castoro. Yummy wine, of course. We go each year at this time. It's tastey food and FREE, all you can drink, wine! How can you go wrong. Ok, you can when you are pregnant. I had sips here and there, but no real drink. I will make up for it next year. So, everyone else enjoyed the wine and I drove the win-o's home. They were quite entertaining in the car on the way home. Singing old tv show songs. Mary usually sleeps through anything, but she didn't even fall asleep through all of that. So you know it was bad, loud, something like that.
THis is Gary, Kevin's brother, and his wife Gail dancing at the bbq. There was a great blues band playing. Mary loved dancing with everyone.
sunday was a day of far out wineries. We went to a couple new ones and then headed back home for Mary's nap and a little pool time. Well it turned out Mary took a nap and I stayed back while the rest went back out to another winery. They were on their own for driving this time. The place was close so I was ok with it. Tonight was the night for the others to go to the Italian place. So, I dropped them off and then we went to find our own dinner. We found a little Mexican place and picked up a couple burritos to go. Headed back to the motorhome to eat and wait for them to call to have me go pick them up. They took their time and called me almost two hours later. They enjoyed their meal, which was good.
Monday arrived and we were all ready to go home. Mary was asking to go home on Saturday. She is not quite a camper yet. She does like camping, but not a for a long time. Hopefully this changes before we go to Mexico for a week. She just doesn't like her routine changed.
SO, I surivived my weekend of being the sober one. It's all good.

I think we have crossed the finish line!!!
Today we hit a mile stone in potty training. We did big girl stinkies in the potty. We have gotten her to do little rabbitt kernals but today we got the real thing. It was great. I know it sounds silly to get so excited over poop, but it is a big thing here. She had to put her feet up on the potty so she could watch it happen, but she did it! It is such a relief to have her do that and not be scared to do it. THEN, after she did two good ones, she asked to go back and do more. AND there was more. What a big girl she has gotten to be. SO, I feel safe to say we are good for the potty now. We will work on the night time part in a bit, but she usually wakes up dry anyway. So, she can hold it. I do make sure she goes potty before she goes to sleep, so we get out what we can anyway, but still. I am very proud of my big girl. We do have to give her something sweet after she does her stinkies, but I'm going to start stopping that so she's not full of sugar all day. Going potty is going to have to become a normal thing. But I think she likes not having a wet or dirty panties. WAHOO!! It only took two weeks!!

Dr Mommy
This is Mary's security blanket/bear. His name is Pinto. This is Pinto #1. He has gone EVERYWHERE with her for the past two years. About a month ago his paws started to wear thin. They have a soft ribbon cover to them, well had. Then the bow started to wear thin and fell off at one point. Dr Mom had to sew that on. Since she sleeps with it and rubs the bow, there was not much left and if it was not there was a problem. SOOO I, Dr Mom, decided to get new ribbon and replace the parts which were no longer there so much. The paws were totally gone and the arm stuffing was falling out. I had already found stuffing in the washing machine once and was afraid to find less of it again. So, I bought some new stuff at Walmart and went to do some surgery. Kevin had to keep her outside while I did this because she would NOT leave me alone. Then when he had her outside she was crying to come back in. It was quite the trauma. Pinto made it through surgery just fine. Kevin laughed at my work, but it was my first surgery. I'm sure the first of Many. I will perfect them as I go along. But it's all fixed and she is a happy girl to have Old Pinto fixed.

Our Own Personal CSI
For those of you who watch CSI Las Vegas, you will like this. This show is filmed on our valley, not really in Vegas. They do some filming in the canyon where my parents live. About two years ago they parked on my parents property and paid them to do this. So, they were going to film again and wanted to park their stuff on the property again. Hey, who can pass up free money!!

So, we had to go over and see the action. We sat our front of the house and watched the action. Not much action really but all the trucks and stuff parked out there. The actual filming was going on down the street. SO there were cars going in and out all the time bringing crew back and forth.

Eventually we decided to walk out and look around. There was only one actor actually working that day and we happened to be out there while he was brought back to his trailer. So, of course, we had to meet him and get a picture with him. Let me just say, he's HOT in person. I love Kevin and all, but even he said he's pretty hunky. His real name is George Eads. He plays Nick Stokes on the show.

They were filming an episode where there is a red Sebring convertible smashed into a tree. So when you see that episode, that's the one filmed in their canyon. Pretty darn cool.
