Beach Day

Sunday we decided to go to the beach with mom and dad (Nana and Papa). Kevin offered to stay home with Mary to give me a day of sun w/out having to chase her, but I felt bad and took them along. It was a beautiful day. About 68, but the sun was out to make it warmer. Mary was a good girl and had a blast. She loved the water, even though it was freezing. And she and grandma played in the and and buried each other's feet. Then she wanted to chase the seagulls. Well, that meant someone had to chase Mary. Oh well, we had fun. She enjoyed it much more than even two months ago in Mexico. She is changing so fast. I can't imagine what she'll be like in 6 months when the next one arrives. Hopefully helpful to mommy and daddy.

Damn It!

Ok, I really try to watch my words and am always telling Kevin to do the same. I really don't think I've said this around her. This morning, out of the blue, she just stood there and said "damn it". Over and Over and Over again. We tried not to laugh and kept telling her not to say it. So, I"m not sure if she learned that from us or maybe at grandma's. But, we shall keep an eye and ear on this one and try to fix it. I guess it's better than some of the other words out there she could have said.

Pay Backs are HELL

Well, today I got paid back for something I did to my mom when I was little. Mary woke up from her nap and was not yelling out for me or anything, so I let her sit and play for a while. Kevin came in and saw she was standing up. (we have a video monitor and can watch her) So, he decided to go upstairs and get her for me. He gets up there and I hear him yell my name. I go up there and half way up the stairs I can SMELL why he is calling me. Yes, she has played in her poopy diaper in her crib. She must have done this before her nap since it was all crusted onto her hands and railings. We tried to wipe it off before we undressed her, but it was too crusted on. So, we just threw her in the bath. She must have wanted it all on her because she just cried as we washed it off. But, she is clean now and her room smells. What fun that was. I wonder if the next one will do this as well. Most likely!

Doc Apt

Well, it is official, we will have a Christmas baby. The doctor today said that after the radiologist read the ultrasound that the due date is December 24th. 24th, 26th, either way it's a Christmas baby. So, I'm only 10 weeks along. She said that all my tests came back normal and the baby is fine. So, all in all, it's all good. We will try and find out what sex the baby is this time. We won't be able to until the next ultrasound which is about 20 weeks. So, the begining of August sometime. Hopefully it will cooperate and let us see.

poopy play

So, I'm sitting at the computer and Mary is in the living room. They are only across the room. I smell a stinky smell. I think to myself "I have not farted". So I turn around and look at Mary. She has her hand down the front of her pants as far as she can get. She's playing with her poop. I go over to her and it's all over her clothes and hands and the back side of her. What a poopy mess. I have to strip her of her poopy clothes and stick her in the sink to rinse her off. We get a clean diaper on and now to inspect my living room. Luckily there was only a mess on my glass coffee table. I can clean that up. Thankfully it was not on my couch or anything else. I thought we might be through the play with my poop stage, but I guess not.

shoping adventure

Today Mary and I went shopping at Ikea with mom today. It's always an adventure to go shopping withe Mary. She at this age where she does not want to sit in the stroller for too long or in a cart or be held. She just wants to go go go on her own. So, I bought a kid leash. I used to see them on other kids and think they were cruel. Well, I understand why they have them now. So, I put it on the little darling. She didn't quite understand what was going on. While we walked she was 'ok', but when I would stop she would fall down. It was quite embarrassing since there were a lot of people around and here I am with my kid on a leash and she keeps falling down. So, we will need to work on this new feature.

Our Own Play Ground

We are lucky to have friends with kids grown up that do not have a need for young play stuff. Thankfully they are willing to hand down all this fun stuff for Mary. Since we do not have enough room at our house it gets split up between ours and mom and dad's. They have the room, of course. But we took the swing set. She loves to play on all that fun stuff at the park. So, now we have our own park at home!
