Be Good You Are Going In the Pen!

We have this baby gate/pen that I used for Mary when she was in the crawling stage. It looks like one of those pens they use to put dogs in. We used it for camping last weekend and it worked great to keep Teresa contained. I brought it home to put her in when Mary won't leave her alone while I need to get stuff done. Yesterday was one of those days. I had laundry going and I needed to go work on it in the garage. Teresa and Mary were on the carpet in the living room and Mary would NOT leave her sister alone. So, I pulled out the gate and put it together. Put it in the middle of the room and put some of Teresa's toys in it. Mary said she wanted to go in with Teresa. I told her the whole point of this is so she's NOT with her. Then Mary proceeded to cry because I would not let her in. I put Teresa in and she started to cry because she was in there. I proceeded to leave the room and get my laundry done. I CAN'T WIN!!! I think my neighbors think I beat them since there is so much crying going on. If it's not one it's the other.

9 Months

Teresa turned 9 months on the 17th. Today was her 9 month apt. We are 22 pounds and 30 inches long. That is 95% for weight and 98% for height. She's right up there and growing steady. She sat on the table and smiled at the doctor the whole time. It was pretty cute. Smiled until the nurse gave her a flu shot. That was not so fun, but she survived. Then we took xrays of her feet to take to the orthopedist on Friday. She didn't care for that too much either. But we made it through and all is well. Off to grow some more. My baby is growing so fast.

Damn Fine Wine!

This weekend we were off to Paso Robles for a fun wine weekend. The winery we belong to has their annual BBQ this time of year. We got my parents and another couple to join the club so they would go to the bbq with us. Kevin brother belongs as well, so there was a big group of us to go. It's a fun time of bbq food and all you can drink wine. Who can pass that up?!
Kevin and his brother Gary having a good time.

We left Friday morning bright and early in our motorhomes. This would be our second camping trip with Teresa. We were prepared for anything, we hoped. We arrived, got set up, ate some lunch, and were off to our first winery. The girls were doing good, so far. Teresa was going to be off her schedule for a few days. She did pretty well for her considering she's teething.

NO, that is not real wine.....it's grape juice. Made her feel special.

Saturday morning we met up with Kevin's sister in law. They live in Morro Bay, which is about 45 minutes from Paso. We met her half way and gave her Mary. That way their babysitter could watch her along with her two kids while we were at the BBQ. We took Teresa to the BBQ, but mary's getting a little old to join us. SO, we got Mary all situated in the car and we were on our way to taste more wine. That night was the BBQ so we didn't want to do too many wineries before the big night. The BBQ was fun, but a little challenging with Teresa. She's just not one to be out of her environment and off her schedule. So, needless to say I didn't get to drink much wine dealing with er. Which was fine so I could drive the rest home safely.

Sunday we met up with Gary and Gail and the kids at Tobin James for more wine tasting, and to get Mary back. Mary didn't really want to go back with us. It was very nice to know she was comfortable with them. She had a great time and they enjoyed their time with them too. It was a fun weekend, overall. I hope when we go back in two months for Thanksgiving that Teresa will be a little easier to manage. I'm sure she will be. But she's super cute anyway. This is her taking a bath in the 'tub' in the shower.

Mary totally wiped out from wineries all day. She slept SOOO good each night. Teresa on the other hand kept me up at least two hours a night with her teething and sleeping in a new bed. UGH, I was exhausted each day.

First Day Of School

Today started Tiny Tots Preschool for Mary. It's a program run through the city of Santa Clarita. Two days a week for two hours a day. Just enough to start her out. It starts at 12:30 so I made sure she had a good lunch and was all ready to go. She had to bring a snack so we picked out a cool bag for her to bring. She decided she wanted the bright pink Victoria Secrets purse. Ok, whatever, she's my girl. We got there and walked in. She was very shy at first, which is not Mary. The she saw the play dough and paint and colors and was all over it. I was busy doing parent stuff and she was already off playing. I went to say bye and told her I"d be back in a while. She barely looked at me and said 'O K'. So I was out of there. When I picked her up she did seem happy to see me. A bit tired I could tell. I put her in the car and she rubbed her eyes. I told her to stay away and she could take a nap when we got home. She then told me she was NOT tired. Yeah, ok, as she is fast asleep upstairs right now. So, it's all good. She said she had fun and wanted to go back. = ) My little one is growing up so fast.

TAKE IT AWAY

Ok, so I have made a decision. I am giving Kevin the scale and telling him to put it somewhere in the house. Do not throw it away, but get it outa my view and don't let me know where it is. I'm obsessed and it's driving me nuts. I step on it every morning and drive myself nuts. I went to weight watchers today and I gained .2, which isn't anything, but the numbers drive me crazy. SOOO I am getting rid of it and going to focus on losing inches instead of numbers. I can only focus on one thing at a time when it comes to myself. I already have too many other things to focus on, which my family and the house. SO, this is it. The gym and eating right for me. NO MORE weighing myself. This will be a challenge, but I will do it.

New Found Energy

I have been going to the gym for three weeks now. I love going. Mary and Teresa both love the day care too. They told me today that Teresa is doing so much better. She even smiles and plays. So nice to know. Mary I can't get out when I'm ready to go.
I've had two training sessions now. We've done lower body and today was upper body. I feel great after it's over. I am sore, but a good sore. It's all good.
So, I had to give up my house cleaner for this, which is fine. She called yesterday to come over and I had to sadly tell her I will call her in a few months. BUT with all this new energy I have found my floor has not been so clean. I have mopped my floor every other day. Ok, and the fact that Teresa is crawling on it and she picks up everything she can and puts it in her mouth. That is another motivation to keep the floor clean. BUT, whatever works.
So, all in all, it's good! I'm feeling good and the house is too!

Terrible 2's..........NO, Terrible 3's is more like it.

I thought the Terrible Two's were supposed to be terrible. NO THEY ARE NOT! It is the 3's that are worse. I'm sure I"ll say the 4's are even worse, but right now the 3's are horrible. This girl won't listen to save herself at times. There is no reasoning with a 3 year old, which is REALLY tough. She wants to play with her sister but doesn't understand she needs to be gentle. It's been a challenge! Not looking forward to doing this again when Teresa is 3.
