Fantastic Baja Trip May 2013

Saturday May 18 we were on our way at 6am.  We had the car packed to the limit.  There was just enough room for our bodies.  By about 2:30 in the afternoon we had made it to the house, after a few stops in town.  But we made it safe and sound!
We unpack and the k ids are in the sand!  Off to the water daddy had to go to get the first buckets of water!

 Linda's hammock was a hit!

The is one side of the porch.  It does not usually have that much sand on it.  But with the way the wind blows, it collected there.  It came in handy for the kids to play on the porch.  It had to be moved, so the next day or two, mom and I shoveled all that sand back on the other side of the wall.  It was a work out, but gave us an excuse to go drink a beer.  ha!
Sunday morning we wake up to the beautiful beach.  Down by the water's edge we see something large on the sand.  Turned out to be a deal dolphin.  Well, a dead anything will soon stink.  So, we had to think of a way to get rid of this animal.
Dad had an idea to roll it onto a board and then tie to board onto the dune buggy and drag it out to the desert.  Sounded easier than it was.
They finally got it onto the board.  Tied it onto the buggy and dad took off.  Well, on the first turn, it rolled right off.
So, back onto the board they rolled in.  This time they tied him down.
Now, off dad went again.  Well, this time it kept sinking into the soft sand.  So, then I had an idea to tie it onto the buggy higher, like when you are wake boarding.  Well, my idea worked!!
Dad got him up off the beach and out to the desert.
Off to take a ride in the bus!
Teresa loved the bus because it was slower than the buggy, but by the end of the trip she liked the buggy too.
Kite flying time
Daddy is helping Teresa fly a kite.
Teresa is such a cutie
Monday morning was working morning.  We needed to repaint some shutters and doors.  Here is Linda working away.

Daddy couldn't wait to get Mary in the ocean.  Mary loved it.

Aren't we a cute family!!
Wednesday we went to Town.  Here is Mary getting her hair braided.
Teresa's turn
Mommy's turn.
All that for $30

This is the lovely view we had from our porch.  The tide is out in this picture, but the water gets nice a close to walk to.
Perfect sunset

Kevin fished every day and all he caught was this one tiny fish.  Poor guy.

Time for a buggy ride.  We all 6 got in there.  Mary on daddy's lap and Teresa on Nana's lap.  Papa did not drive fast so we were safe.

Mary is ready for a ride sitting by herself.  We were off to Percebu for a margarita!

They had put in a little playground since we were there last.  It was a great thing to keep the kids happy.
I was drinking out of a Consuela (special Baja drink)  Big bowl with fresh squeezed juice and booze.  YUM!
The day we went was for a Memorial Day Poker Run.  There were lots of buggies and motorcycles.  While we were there we ran into Ivan  Stewart, who is a famous Baja 500 racer.  He was super nice.  Sat with us and his co-rider.  We found out he's good friend of Jimmy Johnson, NASCAR.  Totally cool!
Here is his race car and the black about him.

And this is the buggy he drives now.  Big difference.  ha!
Teresa decided to be brave and ride in the buggy on the way back.  As long as I was in there too.
SO, this is my super model.  I can't find a bathing suit to cover those cute buns.  I think they are just too cute to be covered.
Then she's Jennifer Lopez in this one, but it does cover her buns.

The girls and their grandma Linda for a week.
We left about 8 on the 24th.  Finally got to the boarder about 10.  Here is the line.  Only had to wait about 45 min, which was awesome!
We only drove to Morongo for the night.  The kids were excited to go swimming in the lazy river.  Mommy and daddy were excited to go gamble a little.  Well, sadly, daddy was sick when we got there so mommy got to go instead.  Won $240 that night!!
it was a fun trip.  We had not been in a long time.  The kids had a blast.  Mommy and daddy got to relax a little too!
